SDACO County Government Scholarship

Congratulations to the 2022 SDACO Scholarship recipients for their outstanding essay on “How does the state of our current economy (high gas prices, delayed shipping, increasing interest rates, etc.) affect how Counties do business and set budgets?”

The deadline for the 2023 County Government Scholarship is May 2023.

The South Dakota Association of County Officials will award one $1000 scholarship to a child or grandchild of a county auditor, treasurer, register of deeds or their employee each year.  The recipient must be at least a second year registered full-time students in a South Dakota University, college (public or private), or vocational/technical certification program.

Applicants must complete a personal essay of at least 500 words on a topic chosen by the SDACO Scholarship Committee, a personal statement of at least 300 words explaining their goals and future plans, and include a resume or work history with their essays and application.
